From his rock background as a member of the Rick Rubin produced rock band Luna Halo, to featured music on ABC tv’s Nashville, to his songwriting success in a multitude of musical genres, Cary Barlowe is truly a diverse songwriter. The North Carolina raised songwriter has written nine #1 songs recorded by Contemporary Christian Music star Toby Mac; “Made to Love,” “I’m for you,” “Tonight,” “City On Our Knees,” with City On Our Knees winning a Dove Award for Gospel song of the year . “Hold On,” “Christmas this Year,” “One World,” “Get Back Up,” and “Feel It.” Three of those songs earned Barlowe Grammy-award nominations for Contemporary/Gospel Song of The Year. Another feather in his CCM cap came with American Idol alum and GRAMMY®-award winner Mandisa and her Christian radio hit “Good Morning.” Cary’s first “cut” (a song recorded by a major label recording artist) in the Nashville Country genre was “Untouchable” by Taylor Swift on her multi-platinum album “Fearless.”

Barlowe has since scored five #1 songs on Country radio; Cary Was the 2015 SESAC songwriter of the year and in 2017 Cary earned the SESAC song of the year award with Billy Currington’s “It dont Hurt like it Used To”… “American Honey” recorded by Lady Antebellum, “Where It’s At” recorded by Dustin Lynch, “Sun Daze” recorded by Florida Georgia Line, “It Don’t Hurt Like It Used To” recorded by Billy Currington and most recently, “Famous Friends” recorded by Chris Young and Kane Brown which held the #1 spot for 2 consecutive weeks this summer. Young and Barlowe had synced up previously on the song “Raised On Country” which reached #5 on the Country radio air-play chart.
