One of Nashville’s most respected songwriters, Georgia native Hillary Lindsey attended the Belmont University’s Music Business school though her tenure was brief as she quickly became an active part of the industry, earning recording and publishing deals while still enrolled at the prestigious university, and it wasn’t long before Lindsey was celebrating a string of hits with the likes of Martina McBride (“Blessed”, “This One’s For The Girls”), and Sara Evans (“Backseat of a Greyhound Bus”).
Now with more than twenty #1 songs under her belt, Hillary has had songs recorded by Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Gary Allan, Lady Antebellum, Sara Evans, Martina McBride, Little Big Town, Rascal Flatts, and countless others. Her many awards include Grammy Awards for the songs “Jesus Take The Wheel” recorded by Carrie Underwood and “Girl Crush” recorded by Little Big Town. Lindsay has score the CMA Triple Play Award three times! - in 2010 for "So Small", "Last Name" and "Just A Dream", all recorded by Carrie Underwood - in 2014 for “Every Storm Runs Out Of Rain” (Gary Allan), “Two Black Cadillacs” and “See You Again” (Carrie Underwood) and again in 2016 for “Shotgun Rider” (Tim McGraw), “Girl Crush” (Little Big Town) and “Little Toy Guns” (Carrie Underwood. The prestigious CMA Triple Play Award honors a songwriter who has penned at least three chart-topping hits within a 12-month period. “Girl Crush” has been a record-breaking song, staying on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for 13 weeks – the longest run by a group in chart history – and topping Country Digital Songs for over 11 weeks with downloads sold.
Hillary is also no stranger to film and TV, including Academy Award nominations for movie soundtrack placements such as “There’s A Place For Us” recorded by Carrie Underwood for The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader soundtrack and “Coming Home,” recorded by Gwyneth Paltrow for Country Strong soundtrack - both of which were nominated for Golden Globe Best Original Song and the latter earned Lindsay an Oscar Nomination for Best Original Song. In 2016, Hillary was tapped by Pop icon Lady Gaga as a principal collaborator on her 5th studio album Joanne. Lindsay’s contributions include the hit single “Million Reasons” which lead to appearances with Lady Gaga on national television and select dates on Gaga’s Dive Bar Tour. A year later, Gaga and Lindsey joined forces again to write for the feature film A Star Is Born resulting in the two soundtrack singles “Always Remember Us This Way” and the duet with co-star Bradly Cooper “I’ll Never Love Again.
