Pablo Zamora Mata is a Costa Rican conductor recognized for his commitment to musical education. He currently serves as assistant conductor of the Austin Symphony Orchestra and music director of the Austin Youth Orchestra Symphony. His conducting engagements include the National Symphony Orchestras of Costa Rica and Argentina, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, and the University of Sao Paulo Symphony Orchestra.
A passionate educator, Zamora Mata has mentored young musicians through roles with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Atlanta Music Project, and Costa Rica’s National Honor Orchestras of the National System of Music Education. His dedication to fostering musical talent is evident in his involvement with Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestras, the Dudamel Foundation’s Encuentros Festival, the LA Philharmonic’s YOLA National Festival, the Carlos Miguel Prieto Fellowship of the OAcademy, and the Sphinx Connect Conference, by the Sphinx Organization.
Zamora Mata has honed his craft under the tutelage of esteemed artists, and educators including Marianne Ploger, Catherine Larsen-Maguire, Molly Turner, Sarah Ioannides, Ligia Amadio, Miguel Harth-Bedoya, and Marin Alsop.
